The Australian Labradoodle is a hybrid breed of dog that was originally a cross between the Labrador Retriever and Standard or Miniature Poodle. In Australia however, they have recognized it as its own breed with 6 approved parent breeds, including Poodle, Labrador Retriever, Irish Water Spaniel, Curly Coat Retriever, American Cocker Spaniel and English Cocker Spaniel. This breed does extremely well with children and is easily trained. They are very playful and active, requiring daily exercise to curb mischievous behavior. A standard Australian Labradoodle stands 22 – 24 inches tall and weighs between 45 – 75 pounds. They have an average life expectancy of 13 – 15 years.
