The Borzoi, or the Russian Wolfhound, is an intelligent, gentle, quiet dog that was originally bred for hunting foxes, rabbits, and wolves. Their calm, sweet temperaments make them excellent companions, though they may not be the best as a family dog since they won’t tolerate children’s roughhousing. The Borzoi needs a moderate-length daily walk, but if its exercise needs are met, it will do well in an apartment since it is such a low-energy breed. Borzois are difficult to train, and should be kept on leash around anything they might chase, but they can be very affectionate, loyal companions.
