The Icelandic Sheepdog is a stubborn yet courageous, medium-sized dog from Iceland. These fluffy dogs are extremely intelligent and when properly socialized makes a valuable family member. These dogs are known for their gentle disposition and patience with children and is often used as a therapy dog for children with ADHD and autism. This dog does not do well on its own and will not be happy in a home where its people work all day leaving it alone. Despite their long coat, the Icelandic Sheepdog requires very little grooming although it does require significant exercise and space. These dogs are also known as the Friaar Dog, Iceland Sheepdog, Icelandic Dog, Islandsk Farehond, and the Islenkur Fjarhundur.
