The Kerry Blue Terrier is an Irish-bred medium-sized dog requiring significant exercise and grooming. These highly devoted dogs require a strong leader and once they realize their human is "worthy" of their attention and submission, will never allow harm to come to their people. These dogs are very respectful with their children and are well suited to families as long as strong leadership is provided. These dogs are not good with other dogs, however, and are even worse with cats and other small animals. This dog is not one for those who want to jog with their dog off leash or plan on going to the dog park or those who are not willing to set firm boundaries. These dogs do not do well in apartments and require a house with a yard at the least. These dogs are also known as the Irish Blue Terrier.
