If you are considering getting your first dog, we HIGHLY recommend reading our amazing guide: The Complete Guide to Finding the Perfect Dog. It has a TON of great information that will help you on your journey to puppy parenthood!

A cousin of the Greyhound and Saluki breeds, the smaller-sized Whippet has a long slender frame that looks like it was born to run.  They have earned the nickname "Miniature Greyhound" based on their similar features and small stature. Daily exercise and running is a must for the Whippet breed, and it's not recommended that you keep one confined to small spaces for very long. Quiet, yet very smart, the Whippet usually spends lots of line laying down and sleeping when they aren't running outside. This makes them ideal for apartment living, if you have the ability and time to exercise them daily. For tons more interesting information about the breed, check out our Whippet breed information page!
